About Board of Secondary Education Assam
The Board of Secondary Education, Assam is also known as SEBA is the state level authority for conducting examinations in Assam. The formation of the board was held on 29th January 1962. The award that is given through this board to the candidates who pass the examination successfully is the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) i.e. the 10th Board.
The Assam Secondary Education Act, 1961 was passed in order to provide the establishment of the Board of Secondary Education in order to regulate, supervise and develop secondary education in the state of Assam. Although the board was found in the year 29th January 1962 it came into existence from 14th March 1962. And then under the provisions of the Act, the Govt. of Assam constituted the Board with Sri S.C. Rajkhowa as Chairman and Md. N. Islam, Inspector of Schools (Central Assam Circle) as Secretary.
