Once you are done with your 10th-grade exams, you will be faced with another challenge, that is, the 12th-grade exams. Once you have cleared that, you are at a critical phase of your life, you will find yourself standing at career-defining crossroads.
Due to the array of courses that are offered to students that have just passed the 12th grade, it is essential to know the details of each course, and that’s why I have listed some of the top competitive exams to take after the 12th standard.
Engineering Entrance Exams
JEE main is a national level examination that is scheduled by the CBSE board. It offers admission to applicants that are eligible for engineering courses in NITs, IIITs, and institutes that are centrally funded like IIST. JEE Main can also be taken as an eligibility test for JEE advanced.
The candidates that have applied for, and passed, the JEE Main tests can use for the JEE Advanced exams. IITs conduct the exams; the admission is offered to all qualifying applicants in all UG engineering and other science courses that are offered at 16 IITs in India. The test includes two papers that have a period of 3 hours each. The question paper is available in Hindi and English; it will be divided into three sections like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test)
This competitive exam is held to decide whether a student genuinely deserve admission for engineering in any of the BITS campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. The test is conducted online to offer access to BITS Pilani engineering, Pharmacy, Information Systems and another course too. The notifications about the exams are usually posted in December, and the examination is held from May to June.
The Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam, states that eligible applicants will receive admission to many B tech degree courses through VITEEE. The application process starts on VITEEE during December and the exam is held in March.
Architecture Entrance Exams
This Competitive exam is to offer admission to interested applicants at the B.Arch programs in India in Government aided architecture colleges. This examination can be given at any designated center before six working days from the cutoff date of applying to your preferred college; six days is the minimum time. The application process for this competitive exam starts from March, and the examination can be taken on any working day from March to August.
JEE Main Paper 2
JEE main paper two is conducted to offer admission to the top colleges in India. The exam is objective and has a 3-hour duration. The review can be taken online and offline too.
The Karnataka Examinations Authority conducts the KCET exams for the admission into architecture courses. The test is conducted in the first or second week of May; based on the marks that you obtain in all the subjects as well as the NATA scores equally, the final admissions will be taken into consideration in the B.Arch. Course.
Medical Entrance Exams
The National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Exam for Undergraduates is a national level entrance examination and eligibility test that offers admission to eligible applicants for MBBS and BDS courses after the 12th Standard Science Examination. The CBSE board schedules NEET-UG.
The Armed Forces Medical College Entrance Test is known to be one of the toughest Competitive exams in the country after a candidate has completed his/her 12th standard examination. The duration of this course is four years and six months and is followed later by a 1-year internship. After you have passes the AFMC entrance examination, it is compulsory that the applicants serve as commissioned officers in the medical services of defense forces for a minimum of 7 years.
Is a national level entrance examination that is organized by AIIMS to provide admission into MBBS AIIMS in New Delhi.
This is a medical entrance exam that is conducted by Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research for admitting eligible applicants to their MBBS program in the institute. The course lasts for four years and six months and is followed by a 1-year internship.
The Christian Medical College, Vellore is known to be one of the top-ranked medical colleges in India. The Vellore and Ludhiana branches organize separate entrance exams for admission to its MBBS, BDS, and other medical programs.
Is a University level entrance exam that is conducted for admission to UG and PG courses in the pharmaceutical, engineering and other programs. The application will be released soon on their site; interested candidates can apply and submit the forms online before the specified due date. The candidates who are interested in the medical courses have to make sure they are eligible for it and that they meet the criteria that are mentioned by Manipal University.
Defense and Marine Exams
NDA & NA Entrance Exam
This is a national level defense examination. After you qualify for the National Defence Academy and the Naval Academy the applicants that are eligible will get admission in the Army, Navy and Air force according to their score during the training period.
Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test
This another national level Competitive test that is held for applicants that are interested in achieving a diploma in Nautical Science after their 12th standard (science stream) exam. The applicants who are deemed eligible will be offered a B.Sc. in Nautical Science.
